Green Accounting Policy to Support the Competitiveness of the Blue Economy in the Sidoarjo Coastal Area
Abstract
Sidoarjo Regency is one of the coastal areas in East Java which has great potential in the aquaculture sector and marine products management industry. However, industrial development in this area creates environmental challenges such as pollution, ecosystem degradation and reduced quality of coastal resources. The blue economy concept is present as a new paradigm that emphasizes the sustainable use of marine resources. To support this, one of the relevant policies is green accounting, namely an accounting system that includes environmental costs in financial reports. This article discusses how green accounting can be an instrument that supports the competitiveness of the blue economy in Sidoarjo. The method used is a literature review of various studies and reports. The results show that implementing green accounting can make financial reports more transparent, companies become more responsible while strengthening Sidoarjo's position in the global market.
