While not entirely incorrect, many view it as a definitive meaning. However, referring to the Quran, ?khalifah? holds a broader and more universal significance. The limited understanding of ?khalifah? as merely a leader seems to have narrowed its original meaning. Therefore, this research aims to delineate the concept of ?khalifah? through semantic analysis and interpretations from authoritative Quranic commentators. In this research method, we employ literature review with a qualitative approach, and data collection is conducted through documentary techniques to gather data from various verses in the Quran as well as explanations from Quranic scholars in classical and contemporary tafsir literature. The collected data is then analyzed using content analysis method. The results of this research indicate that the term ?khalifah? in the Quran signifies a trust and responsibility of humans on Earth to prosper it and preserve its flora and fauna. Verses related to ?khalifah? depict that it plays a crucial role in maintaining the balance of nature. This research has significant implications in the context of environmental conservation. Additionally, these findings provide a deeper insight into the importance of building a harmonious relationship between humans and nature, both being creations of Allah.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Abd. The imbalance in life and the terrifying contradictions among human lives continue to this day. These imbalances occur globally. We witness countries devastated by war, such as Palestine, Yemen, and Syria, where the inhabitants suffer from hunger and lack access to healthcare. Similarly, countries with high poverty rates like Cambodia, Myanmar, and Afghanistan experience hunger and poor sanitation. Conversely, there are many developed and prosperous countries with high income levels in other parts of the world. This study employs a literature review approach, examining verses from the Qur'an and hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad SAW concerning Ith’am as contained in the book "الاءطعام روح الاءسلام" by Syekh Ali bin Ali bin Ibrahim U’Dhobi. The book explains that Islam encourages people to help each other, have empathy, sympathy, and high social concern. As mentioned in Surah Adh-Dhariyat, verse 19: "And in their wealth, there is a right for those who ask and those who do not ask." Therefore, it is essential for Muslims to pay significant attention and care to convey and study the core teachings of Islam contained in Ith’am (charity by giving food). The five pillars of Islam (shahadah, prayer, fasting, zakat, and hajj) are the foundation of Islam and must be performed to be recognized as a Muslim. The pillars of Islam are closely related to Ith’am, making it a core teaching of Islam (the spirit of Islam).
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Rinatul Khumaimah, Zulfatun Anisahhttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1756Counter-Radicalization in Madrasah: Implementation The Values of Religious Moderation at Man Insan Cendekia Padang Pariaman West Sumatra2024-08-13T05:21:27+00:00Dwi Wahyunidwiwahyuni@uinib.ac.id
Since 2019, the Indonesian government has launched a program to strengthen religious moderation as a strategic step to counter-radicalization in various sectors of public institutions. Religion no longer has the opportunity to address public issues. This is evident in the reality that globalization has shifted local values, including religion, and replaced them with homogenized values. Islam, as one of the world's religions, is aware that it has entered the global stage of preaching. Revitalization is one of Islam's efforts to face the challenges of the times. This article will address how Islam, as one of the world's largest religions, maintains the existence of its teachings and responds to the impact of globalization, namely homogenization. Several Western futurologists such as John Naisbitt, a scholar like John L. Esposito, and religious ideologists like Al-Maududi contribute their thoughts to this study. Using literature analysis, the author maps out the constructs of thought and responses of the Islamic community to globalization. In this context, there are differing perspectives between two groups. On one side, there are those who view homogenization negatively, believing it could destroy the existence of religion, while others believe that homogenization is not a threat but rather a motivation for Islam to maintain its existence.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Vita Fitriatul Ulya, Ahmad Suyanto, Tiara Nugrahartanti, Zainal Abidinhttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1647The Role of Sufism Among Turkey's Secularism Policies2024-08-13T05:22:33+00:00Muhammad Fakhry Ghafurmuha099@brin.go.idDhurorudin Mashaddhur001@brin.go.idM. Since 1924, the Muslim-majority country has established itself as a secular state, which separates religion from state politics. The policy initiated by Kemal Atatürk represented a rejection of the Islamic caliphate system that had been implemented by the Uthmaniyah dynasty since the 13th century. Ataturk sought to modernize Turkiye based on democratic and secular principles. Although secularism has been a long-standing feature of Turkish society, the influence of Islam remains evident in the socio-cultural fabric of the country. Indeed, the passion for Islam has been visible in the political landscape since the early 1990s, particularly in sufism movement and political party. This paper is based on a qualitative study conducted through a literature search, supported by observation of events based on information from the mass media. The result of this study is an important finding about the reality of political religion and the Sufism movement in the implementation of secularism in the Muslim country of Turkiye. To gain a deeper understanding of this social phenomenon, a qualitative approach was employed through a series of participant observations, in-depth interviews with community members, and analysis of related local narratives. The results of the study indicate that altruism, as a core value driving social actions, is manifested in various aspects of Banjar community life, particularly in the practice of the bagarumutan tradition. Bagarumutan, which originates from the word "garumut" meaning to gather, with the prefix "ba" (which means 'ber' in Bahasa Indonesia), translates to berkumpul or gathering. Gathering to carry out a task collectively or to help each other. In this framework, the Banjar community actively engages in social activities such as bagarumutan in events such as baaruhan or selamatan (religious feasts), pengantinan or wedding receptions, and haul (commemoration) ceremonies. The Banjar people view such events as important moments that motivate them to work together as a communal unit. In-depth analysis of the bagarumutan practice also reveals that religious and traditional values play a significant role in strengthening and preserving the spirit of altruism in Banjar society. Furthermore, this research highlights the importance of bagarumutan in reinforcing local cultural identity and maintaining social bonds amidst the currents of globalization and modernization.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Riza Saputrahttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1663Conceptualizing Living Qur’an and Hadith2024-08-13T05:22:33+00:00Farah Nuril Izzafarahizza@uinsaizu.ac.id
In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in the study of the Qur’an and hadith beyond the emphasize on the texts, in particular, among the students and scholars of both fields in Indonesia. The fundamental factor triggering the onset of this syndrome is the low level of life satisfaction in a person, which is further exacerbated by the temptation of other people's enjoyment of life on social media. In this case, the researcher examines two verses of the Qur'an, namely Q.S Ibrāhim: 7 and Q.S al-Hājj: 36 to explore and find solutions to the FoMO phenomenon from the Qur'anic perspective. The research method in this article is a literature study that seeks to study and understand theories from various written literature related to the research topic. The results showed that Q.S Ibrāhim : 7 and Q.S al-Hājj : 36 can be an antidote solution to the FoMO phenomenon. It specifically examines Buya Hamka's interpretation of Surah Al-An'am verse 99, which forms the basis for the ecological understanding and agricultural practices within the Quran. The analysis aims to delve into Buya Hamka's views in his interpretation regarding ecological concepts, agricultural practices, as well as the moral and ethical values implied in the verse. Within a historical context, Al-Azhar's interpretation reveals the depth of Buya Hamka's thoughts concerning the relationship between humans, nature, and agricultural practices. Buya Hamka connects the messages of the Quran with the challenges of the time, highlighting the relevance of ecological values and sustainable agricultural practices in modern society. This analysis also explores the educational aspects and environmental awareness advocated in this interpretation, offering perspectives on spirituality and social values in the context of agriculture. Using a historical approach and contemporary relevance mapping, this research elaborates on how Buya Hamka's Al-Azhar interpretation provides a holistic view of ecology and agriculture in the Quran. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of moral, ethical, and practical values derived from Quranic verses related to agriculture. It also offers recommendations for practical implementation in preserving ecosystems and sustaining agriculture in line with Quranic teachings. This analysis contributes to enriching the understanding of the Quran's message concerning ecology and agriculture while providing a foundation for relevant practical applications in environmental preservation and improving agricultural practices in accordance with Islamic teachings.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Lukman Nul Hakim, Rahmat Ali Tirmidzihttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1743Dialectics of Islamic and Christian Public Sphere in Kediri2024-08-13T05:21:27+00:00M Thoriqul Hudahuda@iainkediri.ac.idAdinda Maharaniadindamaharani2411@gmail.comDina Nuryanadinadina0206@gmail.com
Islam and Christianity are religions that have been present in Indonesia for centuries, the history of these two religions cannot be separated from the existence of the Indonesian nation. As time goes by, the relationship between these two religions fluctuates (between conflict and harmony), in certain areas Islam becomes dominant, but in other areas Christianity is the dominant religion. National History records that several times Islam and Christianity were involved in religious conflicts. The dialectic of the relationship between the two religions in the public sphere is the key to fluctuations in the relationship between Islam and Christianity, such as what happened in the Kediri area where Islam and Christianity both exist in the public sphere. Therefore, this research attempts to portray the relationship between Islam and Christianity in public spheres by using a qualitative approach in research, while the technique for obtaining data in research uses interview and observation techniques. The research results show that religion's control of public sphere has exceeded formal and informal boundaries as discussed by Jurgen Habermas. Dominative criticisms of hadith texts have recently caused some disruption in the established methodologies of hadith criticism outlined by traditional scholars. If left unchecked, this could lead to the imposition of Western biases, which might dominate one body of knowledge over another, or even one value system over well-established Islamic teachings. Two examples of such hadith are those concerning the age of Aisha's marriage and female leadership. Therefore, this study explores the application of J?rgen Habermas' critical hermeneutics, which has the capacity to uncover underlying dominations, to address these issues. The core aim is to investigate the ideological distortions present in hadith criticism. To address this problem, the study employs a qualitative, library-based research method, relying on information sources from various books, articles, and journals. Through the lens of J?rgen Habermas' critical hermeneutics, this paper reveals and examines Western biases, such as ethical standards regarding child marriage and gender equality standards. Within the context of contemporary Western modernism, which has introduced new ethical standards and norms previously absent but now regarded as authoritative, this study aims to scrutinize the impact of such norms on interpretations within Hadith scholarship. Through a decolonial lens applied to the criticism of Hadith matn, it seeks to unravel and challenge colonial biases and Eurocentric perspectives that have historically shaped scholarly discourse on this issue. Furthermore, this research highlights the contributions and perspectives of prominent figures in Western Hadith scholarship, including Jonathan AC Brown, to enrich the dialogue on the subject. By advocating for a decolonized approach to Hadith criticism, this study underscores the necessity of contextual understanding, cultural sensitivity, and epistemic inclusivity in the examination of Islamic history and tradition.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Ananda Prayogi, Wildan Ulumul Fahmihttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1671Peran Modal Sosial Tokoh Islam dalam memimpin umat Islam dan Kelompok Petani Tebu Muslim di Indonesia2024-08-13T05:22:33+00:00Mochamad Rizal Umamirizal_umami@polije.ac.idMuksin Muksinmuksin@polije.ac.idDewi Kurniawatikurniadewipolije@gmail.com
Kiai berperan sebagai pemimpin spiritual dan moral. The nonconformity arose because the study of the Islamic world focused on dogmatic ideological nuances, while western world studies adopted a more critical and academic methodology. The present study aimed to explore how these two opposing viewpoints assessed the hadith of the Prophet. The studies conducted by Goldziher and Schacht were selected as representatives of the Western world and those of Azami for Islam. Azami, a leading traditionalist Islamic scholar, had tried to counter both from an academic perspective. Furthermore, other Islamic scholars often reiterate the opinion of Azami when rejecting theses of Goldziher and Schacht. This study attempted to answer three main questions using the abductive method, namely, How do the Western and Islamic perspectives view the hadith of the Prophet? What argument was put forward by Azami for refuting the views of Goldziher? Why does Goldziher opinion continue to get stronger despite the numerous attacks
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Muhammad Babul Ulum https://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1674A Conceptual Framewok of Academic Integrity in Islam2024-08-13T05:22:33+00:00Akbar Akbarakbarakbar@iainpalopo.ac.idMIchelle Picardmichelle.picard@flinders.edu.au
Academic integrity is vital to maintain quality standards and prevent misconduct that undermines standards in higher education institutions, including in Islamic Higher Education (IRHE) Institutions. However, this concept has been stereotyped as a western concept because the literature of academic integrity has flourished in western universities over the past three decades. This study aims to investigate the relationship between Islam and the concept of academic integrity and provides evidence that academic integrity should not be regarded as merely a Western concept but is also conceptualized in Islam. This study was designed using grounded theory. Muslim scholars in three IRHE institutions in Indonesia were interviewed to find out how they conceptualized academic integrity in Islam. The data were analyzed using content analysis and themes emerged to develop a conceptual framework of academic integrity in Islam. Politics and Sufism are akin to contrasting poles: while politics navigates the affairs of the state and the intricate world, Sufism gravitates towards the afterlife, often disregarding worldly matters, particularly politics. Employing a mixed-method approach, this study incorporates literature review and interviews. Interviews were conducted with the successors of the order's leadership, two members involved in practical politics, and two participating members. Documentation was utilized, as certain fundamental and significant documents regarding the order remain unpublished, necessitating reference to ensure the research's comprehensiveness. As for the findings, the Khalwatiyah Samman Sufi order regards the world as a realm for deeds towards the afterlife; thus, it should not be shunned but rather utilized for deeds as much as possible. Similarly, in politics, which lacks inherent orientation, the morality of politics hinges on the politicians; hence, virtuous individuals must engage to uphold ethical standards. The political trajectory of the Khalwatiyah Samman order has a rich history, commencing from its initial congregation of seven individuals in South Sulawesi, three of whom ascended to kingship?namely, the 28th king of Bone, the 33rd king of Gowa, and the 44th king of Wajo. During the Oerde Baru era, one successor of the order assumed membership in the honor council in South Sulawesi. Post-reformation, numerous order members assumed roles in regional and central representative councils, as well as leadership positions such as regents and mayors. According to the Khalwatiyah Samman order, politics is perceived as a tool for drawing closer to God by serving the community indiscriminately, characterized by honesty and trustworthiness. Therefore, politics represents a realm of merit for achieving success in both this world and the hereafter. 2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Abdul Mutakabbirhttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1675Artificial Intelligence in the Discourse of Hadith Science2024-08-13T05:22:03+00:00Amelia Damayantiameliadamay19@gmail.comSusi Wulandarisusiwulanfebiansyah@gmail.comThe current existence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) shows that the convenience of technology is increasingly showing progress. Many of these works appeared when Sharia economics was developing, especially when PTKI opened a Sharia Economics Department in Indonesia. Have we employed the descriptive-analytical method, and historical philosophical approach, and based on the literature study, this article finds that Tafsir Iqtisadi in Indonesia is a tafsir product, which is a book and research in itself. The Tafsir Iqtisadi product is an interpretation of the Al-Quran with an economic approach. This approach is an acceptable style of interpretation and originates from the style of Tafsir Ilmi, Tafsir Ahkam and Tafsir Adabi Ijtima’i. Methodologically, the Tafsir Iqtisadi books combine tafsir bil ra'yi and tafsir bil ma'tsur. The Bayani approach was introduced by Amin al-Khuli, who was then perfected by his wife, Bintu Syati, in his work Tafsir Bayani. Meanwhile, the Ijtima'i approach is often based on Muhammad Abduh in explaining the verses of the Qur'an recorded in Tafsir al-Manar. This article uses a descriptive-analytical method. These two approaches are described and then analyzed. The results of this research show that: First, through the Bayani approach, the interpretation of the Qur'an goes through two stages: dirasah ma Hawla al-Qur'an (This study focuses on the study of the process of the Nuzul al-Qur'an, its collection, development, and circulation in Arab society as an object of revelation, as well as the socio-historical aspects of the Qur'an, including the intellectual, cultural, and geographical situation of Arab society in the seventh century when the Qur'an was revealed) and dirasah ma fi al-Qur'an (This study begins by examining the etymological meaning of the word, then looking for the functional meaning of the word in the Qur'an and examining the wording (murakkabat). Second, after finding the textual understanding based on the above two stages, the Qur'an interpretation must pay attention to the present context by considering humanist, social, and diversity elements. An interpreter of the Qur'an must know the various situations and conditions that surround the dynamics of social problems that develop. These considerations are executed because the Qur'an, as a human guide, should be able to answer all the problems of the Ummah that occur (past, present, and future). Therefore, the ijtima'i approach becomes important in understanding the content of the Qur'an. Third: The Bayani-Ijtima'i approach is one of the alternatives to interpreting the Quran for peace and humanity in the digital era.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Wali Ramadhanihttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1712Sufism Studies from a Gender Perspective: The Role and Experience of Rabiah Al-Adawiyah in the Sufi Tradition2024-08-13T05:22:02+00:00Luthfatul Qibtiyahlutfatulqibtiyah@gmail.comUswatun Hasanahuswahasan.zain@gmail.comNurul Hidayatinurulonly.hidayati@gmail.com
Abstract: This study explores the role and experiences of Rabiah al-Adawiyah in the Sufi tradition with a focus on gender perspectives. Rabiah, as one of the central figures in the history of Sufism, is known for her significant contribution to the development of Sufism teachings, especially in the concept of divine love (mahabbah) and spiritual asceticism. This study uses a qualitative approach with a type of literature study to explore the poetry of a prominent Sufi woman, Rabiah al-Adawiyah, to understand how they responded to and shaped their views on spirituality in a context that is often dominated by male narratives. The research findings demonstrate that Rabiah not only enriched Sufi theology with a feminine perspective but also challenged gender stereotypes in Islamic spirituality. Neo-Sufism originated from the influence of philosophical thought in order to reconcile between religion and social understanding due to the crisis of the phenomenon of modernization in religious communities. This is related to the concept of philosophy which is considered less logical and contrary to the teachings of Islam so that it experiences a rejection reaction to the teachings that unite the essence of man with God. This school of Philosophy prioritizes the ratio above the authentic proof or revelation, so that the conflict of deviation will be greater because of the opposite in the Qur'an and Sunnah. This research method uses qualitative methods by collecting data through literature studies sourced from primary data in the form of scientific papers from various journals and secondary data sourced from books and modern articles. Corruption is a familiar topic for all people because this problem has never been resolved. In general, the average corruption problem comes from dissatisfaction in obtaining and doing something. Gratitude is something that can be a character that can be built in eradicating corruption because in controlling gratitude someone will know which is meant by need and which is meant satisfaction. By being grateful, one will be able to receive all the blessings obtained so as to prevent negative behavior such as corruption. But it is not only the nature of gratitude that must be instilled in building anti-corruption traits, there are other characteristics that need to be instilled as well. This research has limitations in conducting field study research through interviews, so this is an opportunity for further research for empirical studies in a more measurable manner. This research is recommended to put more emphasis on field studies that link gratitude with acts of corruption.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Dwi Revalina Daulay , Adelia Febriantyhttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1670Construction of the Ideal Spouse Meaning in Surah Al-Nur [24]: 26: Critique and Solution for Choosing a Life Partner2024-08-13T05:22:33+00:00Aida Ayu Lestari4idaayulestari@gmail.comFuji Lestarifujinelestari@gmail.comMuhammad Arwani Rofi'iarwanirofi'i@student.afi.unida.gontor.ac.id
This research aims to explain the interpretation of the Quranic verse in Surah al-Nur [24]: 26 regarding the ideal spouse as a critique of the considerations commonly ingrained in society such as socioeconomic status, education, or physical appearance, and to understand the characteristics of the ideal spouse contained in the verse. This study is a library research using the 'ulum al-Qur’an approach. The primary data used is the Quranic verse in Surah al-Nur [24]: 26 and several commentaries, while other supporting data are from books, articles, dictionaries, and encyclopedias. The method used is descriptive-analytical, presenting and explaining the findings. Based on this research, it is concluded that Allah promises that good people will be given good spouses, and vice versa. This study identifies the characteristics of the ideal spouse promised by Allah in Surah al-Nur [24]: 26, including having strong faith, avoiding bad and despicable qualities, being just, preserving each other, loving each other, and having similar behavior and outlook on life. The implication of this research is to provide a deeper understanding of the ideal spouse according to the teachings of the Qur'an, the importance of loyalty and quality relationships, the need for shared values and beliefs in marriage, and criticism of worldly considerations in choosing a life partner. Thus, this research provides a more comprehensive view of how the Qur'an teaches about the ideal spouse and its implications in daily life.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Aida Ayu Lestari, Fuji Lestari, Muhammad Arwani Rofi'ihttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1655Memahami Popularitas Perang Takjil di Kalangan Komunitas Non-Muslim: Sebuah Analisis Sosial Budaya2024-08-13T05:22:33+00:00Vela Qotrun Nadavelaqotrunnada26@gmail.comSyamsul Ma'arifmaarifsyamsul767@gmail.com
One of tradition that very attached to the month of Ramadan is ngabuburit. This research aims to explore the interconnection between religious studies and Islamic studies through theoretical and practical approaches. This research uses a qualitative methodology with literature analysis as the main instrument to understand how these two fields interact and enrich each other. The theoretical approach includes analysis of key concepts in religious studies and Islamic studies, as well as how methodological approaches from these two disciplines can complement each other. The practical approach reviews the implementation of Islamic studies in religious studies programs at various higher education institutions, as well as its impact on cross-cultural understanding and interreligious dialogue. The research results show that the integration of Islamic studies within a religious studies framework not only broadens the scope of academic studies but also enriches theological and ethical discussions in a multicultural and multireligious context. This research concludes that the link between religious studies and Islamic studies offers great potential for the development of a more holistic and inclusive science.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Moh. As a prolific scholar, of course the reading of it cannot be arbitrary and atomistic. At least there is an attempt to read that can integrate between his works, considering also the number of works he produced. One of Suyuthi's major works is the book al Itqan which discusses ulum al Quran. In the preamble of the book, Suyuthi explicitly expressed his intention to write a book of tafsir that is applicable to the methodology he offers in Itqan. Suyuthi envisioned a book of tafsir that was considered comprehensive and could gather all the ideas of ijtihad from his books. No one knows for sure what Suyuthi actually wanted to concretize in his dream of writing the Majma' al Bahrain tafsir book, nor has the manuscript of the book been found until now. One of the main ideas Suyuthi intended to write Majma' al Bahrain was to combine the riwayah and dirayah approaches. An attempt to grope Suyuthi's ideas departs from the assumptions narrated by Suyuthi himself in his books when introducing the book of Majma' Bahrain that failed to be written, as mentioned in the preamble of al Itqan and Qatf al Azhar. This article aims to conduct a reconstruction that is expected to adequately represent Suyuthi's ideas about the Majma' al Bahrain tafsir plan that he revealed in several of his books. The methodology that tries to be pursued is to elaborate and combine Suyuthi's works (both tafsir and methodology), to find a pre-discourse on Suyuthi's wish in the book of Majma' al Bahrain that was not done. For that purpose, the researcher has inventoried a number of Suyuthi's essays that are relevant to the discipline of tafsir as many as 13 books.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Mishbah Nur Ihsan, Ahmad Haidar Rofifhttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1662Ilmu Nafs: The Existence of The Application of Sufism to Human Psychological Conditions2024-08-13T05:22:33+00:00Inayah Aqilah Bakhtiarinayahaqilahbakhtiar@gmail.com Ghefira Azzura Tazkiya Yusrotazkiya11yusro@gmail.comFatimah Nur Azahrofatimahnurazahro13@gmail.com
The human soul is the fundamental component that builds a human being itself. The doctrine of radical feminism has shaped the social view of women reviewed from a capitalist perspective, achievement, and work ethos. The historical events of the 1970s were full of discrimination against women by church culture, which sparked a rebellion for equal rights with men. It builds a paradigm that women must have achievements and social influence to gain societal rights and capacity. Therefore, a career becomes the main aspiration of feminism. However, this affects the shift in the roles and responsibilities of women traditionally identified as wives and mothers and responsible for the household. For feminism, being a career woman is the right of all women, and not limited to domestic roles. The study examines the contradiction between feminism and Islamic perspectives on women's careers. The method used is qualitative research based on library research, with descriptive analysis and critical analysis approaches. The results of this study reveal that the concept of women's careers according to feminism is based only on the trauma of the church's cultural history that intimidates women. Meanwhile, the book of Al-Żikrā is one of the works of an Indonesian scholar from South Sulawesi, namely AGH. KH. Lanre Said. But it is still very rare to be discussed and studied further. The main objective of this study is to analyse and elaborate on the meaning of the Prophet Muhammad's hadith about wiping the khuf in the book of Al-Żikrā. In this research, the ma'ān al-ḥadīṡ approach is used by performing the technique of textual interpretation of hadith initiated by hadith scholars, namely Arifuddin Ahmad, as a step in analysing the hadith, which is the object of the research. This research is descriptive qualitative literature research. The results show that, when viewed from the diversity of narration techniques, the hadith is narrated in meaning and narrated in complete and incomplete. As for the variety of language forms and styles, it was found that the hadith was delivered in three dialects of the language, namely Fushah, Persian, and Sham, in the form of affirmative dialogue, and was classified as a sentence full of meaning and logic. In terms of the diversity of the content of the hadith, it is found that the content of the hadith is related to the issue of worship, in this case, mahdah worship and legal provisions. On the other hand, AGH. KH. Lanre Said tends to interpret the hadith textually, saying that what is meant by khuf is shoes in general, and the hadith contains legal provisions relating to the permissibility of wiping the shoes instead of wiping the feet during ablution
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Radhie Munadi, I Gusti Bagus Agung Perdana Rayynhttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1733The Innovative Role of Female Scholars in Shaping Islamic Education and State Policy2024-08-13T05:21:27+00:00Asnal Malamalaasnal12@gmail.com
This study aims to explore the innovative role of female scholars in building Islamic education and state policy. This type of research is literature research using the descriptive-analytical method, which is to do takhrij hadith bil-lafzhi both at the beginning, middle, and end of the hadith text. The results of the takhrij study of the three traditions in the book are that the Hadith about honoring parents is not sourced from Bukhari, but sourced from At-Tirmidhi and the wording of the Hadith is also different, while the Hadith about cleanliness and the Hadith about good deeds are in accordance with the sources of transmission, but there are slight differences in wording
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Hafiz Mubarak, Salim Abqari, Muhammad Fadli Rahmanihttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1736Analysis of Hadiths on Altruism Motivation2024-08-13T05:21:27+00:00Abd. Wahidabdul.wahid@ar-raniry.ac.id
The study of altruism within religious teachings, particularly Hadiths, reveals significant insights into the motivational roots of selflessness. This paper explores the Hadiths related to altruism, emphasizing their role in promoting social cohesion and moral development within Islamic teachings. It underscores the ethical guidance provided by the Hadiths, highlighting their practical applications in fostering altruistic behavior. Previous research has established the foundational role of Hadiths in shaping ethical conduct among Muslims. This study addresses the gap in understanding the specific motivational mechanisms through which these teachings inspire altruism by conducting a comprehensive textual analysis. The research identifies key themes and motivational triggers in the Hadiths, employing a multidisciplinary approach that integrates theology, psychology, and sociology. By elucidating these motivational aspects, the study offers valuable guidance for religious educators, community leaders, and policymakers in promoting altruistic values and behaviors. Ultimately, the exploration of Hadiths on altruism contributes to the ongoing discourse on how religious traditions can inspire and sustain altruistic behavior in the modern world.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Abd Wahidhttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1784Supremasi Pemerintahan di bawah Agamawan: Menilik Strategi Diskursif Ruhulloh M. His engagement with various scholarly discourses, prophetic historicity, and the political realities of his era profoundly influenced him. The synthesis of these influences eventually formed the new Khomeini, characterized by a pragmatic socio-political outlook. This outlook was manifested in his mission to oppose the secular regime of Reza Shah and establish an Islamic government. Based on this phenomenon, this research aims to discuss academic questions regarding Khomeini’s strategy in founding an Islamic government. It concludes that Khomeini’s political involvement in Iran was closely linked to the political realities he faced and the horizontality of Shia theology. His primary strategy was non-military, involving the integration and reinterpretation of various ideas, including monotheism, Shia theological doctrines, ‘irfani (mystical knowledge), Islamic law, and the texts of the Qur’an and the Prophet’s hadiths. This religio-political strategy effectively toppled the Pahlavi regime, leading to the establishment of an Islamic government
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Rika Leli Dewi Khusaila Rosalniahttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1689Sufistic Self-healing: The Intersection of Sufism and Psychology2024-08-13T05:22:02+00:00Laily Hidayatilailykusturayu@gmail.comSiti Fatimahsitifatimah1411@gmail.com
Humans always desire to know themselves, know the world around them, and know their place in the world. This search has taken humanity from religious dogmas to philosophical discourse and the empirical sciences. Although human civilization has progressed in various alternatives for understanding the self about nature, the answers remain elusive. Spirituality, whether related to a particular religion or another, has been practiced for a long time and is claimed to provide answers to “unresolved doubts” (S. Haque Nizamie, et al, 2013). In recent years, there has been an increase in interest in spirituality, and advances in neuroscience have provided an opening to understand it from a more scientific viewpoint and place it in the proper perspective. In various cultures, spirituality is an important part of the belief system of the majority of society. This affects mental well-being and understanding of mental illness in terms of etiology, meaning, and self-healing modalities. It seems important for mental health professionals to be aware of how spirituality influences the mental well-being of individuals in both health and illness. This paper will outline the basic foundations of Sufism, how Sufism affects the mental well-being of individuals associated with it, and its relationship with psychology.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Laily Hidayati, Siti Fatimahhttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1732Metodologi Tafsir Kitab Hidayatul Qur’an fi tafsiril Qur’an bil Qur’an2024-08-13T05:21:27+00:00Johana Salsabillahjohanasalsabillah@gmail.comAlif Hibatullahalifhibatullah07@gmail.com
Tafsir Alquran terus berlanjut dari masa Nabi Muhammad hingga sekarang. The emergence of an anthropocentric religious perspective, predominantly introduced by educated youth within rural communities, is considered the primary catalyst for a shift in the village community's paradigm regarding the human-nature relationship. Therefore, this study aims to investigate two aspects: firstly, it delves into the contextual factors that lead to the proliferation of anthropocentric viewpoints among educated youth; and secondly, it examines how such perspectives may diminish the significance of local wisdom and villagers' beliefs regarding the human-nature connection. Drawing on data gathered through participant observation and ethnographic analysis, the research identifies two main factors contributing to the rise of anthropocentric interpretations of religious texts among educated youth. Firstly, Ulama Nusantara, the Muslim scholars in the archipelago, widely disseminate anthropocentric teachings in their religious references. Secondly, emerging beliefs regard their traditional beliefs in supernatural beings as part of erroneous teachings. By framing Islam, particularly the interpretation of religious texts such as the Quran and Hadith, as a viable solution to societal challenges, young individuals have effectively instigated a shift towards an anthropocentric paradigm. Consequently, this paradigm shift prompts a gradual erosion of traditional values and local wisdom, which have been handed down through generations.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Ahmad Syarif Hidayatullahhttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1716Understanding Islamic Aqidah Through the Lens of Religious Studies in Education: A Literature Analysis of Its Influence and Implications2024-08-13T05:22:02+00:00Kardina Engelina Siregardinazahsan@gmail.com
Understanding Islamic aqidah plays an important role in shaping the identity and values of Muslims, especially in the educational context. This research aims to explore the influence of religious studies in deepening understanding of Islamic faith and its implications in the educational context. Through careful analysis of the literature, we investigate how the study of religion can be an enriching lens for understanding Islamic creeds. Our findings reveal that the study of religion not only provides an understanding of the theological aspects of aqidah, but also provides insight into the history, culture, and social context that shapes that understanding. The implication of this research is the development of a holistic educational approach, enabling students to integrate knowledge about Islamic creeds with a broader understanding of religion in general. By emphasizing the values of tolerance, respect for diversity, and intellectual criticism, education based on religious studies can prepare students to face the challenges of the modern world with strong beliefs and a deep understanding of Islamic beliefs. Thus, this research makes an important contribution in enriching discussions about Islamic education that is inclusive and relevant to the times.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Kardina Engelina Siregarhttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1759Al Azhar Alumni’s Contribution to The Study of The Qur’an in Indonesia: Case Analysis of The Translation of Muhammad A. This activity is motivated by the motivation to transmit Al-Azhar knowledge which is considered to have the opportunity to be introduced to readers in Indonesia. Ahmad Khalafullah’s work is one of the thoughts of Al-Azhar scholars that received this attention. Through qualitative methods involving literature review, this article explains this phenomenon as the dynamics of Quranic studies. Then an analysis was carried out using Kuntowijoyo’s theory of intellectual history which was seen from three aspects, namely: text, context and influence of thought. This article concludes that the translation of Ahmad Khalafullah’s work in the field of Quranic studies is considered by the translator to have an important contribution to the post-reform Indonesian context, where the floodgates of thought are wide open. The influence of the translation of Ahmad Khalafullah’s work has had an impact on the development of thought in Indonesia within the framework of a progressive thought project in the study of the Al-Qur’an as well as being used as a research object.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Muhammad Khoirul Anwarhttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1688Exploring Digital Literacy Practices in Indonesia: A Contestation Analysis of the Discourse on Prophet Muhammad's Descent on Youtube Channel2024-08-13T05:22:02+00:00Haqqul Yaqinhaqqulyaqin@uinsa.ac.id
The publication of KH. Imaduddin Utsman al Bantani's book on the disconnection of the Indonesian Arab lineage from the Prophet Muhammad (May 2023) has elicited a diverse range of reactions, even in the neighboring country of Malaysia. The merits and demerits of responding to the contents of the book are currently being debated on news platforms in Indonesia, including both traditional and digital media, as well as on social media platforms such as Tiktok, IG, and YouTube. This article examines the public's views on the pros and cons of YouTube. The YouTube content to be analyzed was released on several channels between July 2023 and June 2024. As one of the world's most significant social media platforms, YouTube boasts 137 million users in Indonesia as of October 2023, making it an ideal platform for disseminating certain understandings and views in Indonesia. This study aimed to address two key questions. First, how is the discourse on the Prophet's descendants constructed on YouTube channels? Second, how is the response and counter-discourse on the Prophet's descent carried out? To address these two research problems, a qualitative research approach was employed, specifically critical discourse analysis. This research focuses on efforts to understand and study discourse as an element that forms power and ideology in society, particularly with regard to the issue of fighting over the Prophet's descendants, which forms a unique relationship within a discourse.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Haqqul Yaqinhttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1692Reproducing Religious Legitimacy: Symbolic Power in The Haul Tradition2024-08-13T05:22:02+00:00Khalimatu Nisakhalimatunisa@gmail.com
Haul, which is celebrated in various regions in Indonesia, is aimed at commemorating the death of Islamic scholars or figures considered to have contributed significantly in the society. In Indonesia, several haul(s) are held on a large scale and involve hundreds of thousands to millions people. For example, the haul of Abah Guru Sekumpul in Martapura, South Kalimantan, and the haul of Habib Ali bin Muhammad Al-Habsyi in Solo, Central Java. In rural areas, haul(s) are held in a simpler mean to commemorate local Islamic scholars. Haul(s) are usually organized by the heirs, although over time, initiatives for haul(s) have also emerged from outside the family circle. Predominantly, the haul tradition is closely intertwined with pesantren tradition. Haul, as its literal definition, becomes an annual agenda as done by Pesantren Al-Munawwir Krapyak, Yogyakarta, in memorizing its late founder, KH. Muhammad Munawwir. This Quranic scholar not only established the pesantren but also founded a network of Quranic scholar epistemology in Nusantara. Passing away in 1942, his haul celebration becomes increasingly massive each year. As a tradition, haul is seen more in terms of ritual or da’wa aspects. This paper aims to scrutinize the political context behind the haul tradition. By utilizing Bourdieu's theory of symbolic power, this paper argues that haul is an effort to produce religious legitimacy over time. Through a case study method on the commemoration of KH. Muhammad Munawwir's haul, this research shed light on power relations through the analysis of arenas, modalities, and habitus behind the tradition.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Khalimatu Nisahttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1724GERAKAN SOSIAL PEMUDA Katalisator Menuju Inklusif Beragama di Surabaya2024-08-20T06:31:45+00:00Feryani Umi RosidahFeryani66@gmail.comMuhammad Nikmal Anas Alhadialhadiianas@gmail.comWiwin Luqna Hunaidawiwinluqna@uinsa.ac.id
Studi ini menganalisis strategi komunitas 'Gusdurian' Surabaya dalam memobilisasi sumber daya dan membingkai makna untuk membangun generasi toleran. Several results of this study indicate that the concept of boycott in the perspective of thematic hadith refers to the rejection of something with a specific intent and purpose, such as to weaken the economy, punishment/sanctions and threats. In the time of the Prophet. boycotts occurred in three areas: economics, politics and social fields. In detail, the forms of boycott actions are found in (1) stopping the supply of wheat to the people of Mecca, (2) blocking and confiscating the trade property of the infidel Quraysh, (3) besieging the Jews of Bani Nadhir and the people of Thaif, and (4) ostracizing three Companions of the Prophet who were absent from the Tabuk war.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Misbahul Munir, La Ode Ismail Ahmad, Abdul Rahman Sakka, Abd Bashir Fatmal, Muhammadiyah Aminhttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1727Dynamics of Qur'anic and Hadith Studies in the Digital Age: A Literature Review of the Application of Technology in Islamic Education2024-09-08T11:31:54+00:00Kardina Engelina Siregardinazahsan@gmail.com
The development of digital technology is changing Islamic education. This study aims to conduct a literature review on the dynamics of Qur'an and Hadith studies in the digital era, with an emphasis on the application of technology in the Islamic education curriculum. Using a literature study approach, we investigate the evolution, trends, challenges, and opportunities that arise with respect to the application of technology in Islamic education. The results of the review show that digital technology has changed the way people read the Qur'an and Hadith, increased learning efficiency, expanded the scope of Islamic education, and allowed wider access to religious resources. However, issues such as the quality of digital content, concerns about the veracity of sources, and limitations in access to technology also need to be addressed. This research provides valuable insights for building an Islamic education curriculum that is responsive to the digital age. The research also shows how important it is to combine technology with traditional methods for studying the Qur'an and Hadith.
2024-07-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Kardina Engelina Siregarhttps://proceedings.uinsa.ac.id/index.php/ICMUST/article/view/1699Sufism Heritage in Healtcare: The Influence of Sufi Healing on Mental Health Development2024-11-29T08:26:19+00:00Nara Syarifaninarasyarifani@gmail.comNaan Naannaan@uinsgd.ac.idMuhammad Salwa Gurdamsgedudarma@gmail.com
Amidst the wave of modernization, Sufi healing is attracting new attention, especially regarding mental health.
