FRAMING MEDIA REPUBLIKA DAN KOMPAS TERHADAP KONFLIK PALESTINA DAN ISRAEL

Abstract

This research is conducted to explain how the Republika and Kompas media frame the conflict between Palestine and Israel. This conflict has a lengthy historical background involving territorial claims, religious aspects, and national identity, and media coverage plays a key role in shaping public perception of this issue. The study aims to elucidate how Republika and Kompas media frame the Palestine-Israel conflict. It employs a qualitative approach, focusing on framing analysis, which examines how media shape, select, and highlight specific aspects of an issue or event. The findings of this research indicate that the coverage of the conflict framed by Republika and Kompas emphasizes the humanitarian aspects and the suffering of civilians in Gaza while highlighting Israel's actions perceived as human rights violations. Recommendations from this study emphasize the importance of a critical stance in consuming news and considering various perspectives.
