Abstract

Arabic is the language of the Qur'an and Hadith, which is one of the most complex languages in terms of grammar, in classical Arabic grammar there are three components of words, namely ism, fi'il, and letters, while the linguistics is the science of studying language in general, both have a very close relationship because they study the structure and rules of language in Arabic. This article aims to discuss the importance of linguistics in classical Arabic grammar. Imagine a magnificent building full of intricate carvings and deep meaning. That's roughly the picture of classical Arabic grammar. To understand it, we need a key, and that key is the linguistics. This science is not just a collection of rules, but also a window that allows us to peek into the beauty and richness of classical Arabic. Just think, how can we know the meaning of an ancient word that is centuries old? Or how can we put together sentences whose structure and nuances are so different from modern Arabic? This is where the linguistics plays a role. This science is like a language detective, breaking down morphology, syntax, and semantics, revealing hidden layers of meaning. The method used in this study is a literature study, namely by reading related literature. The results of this study indicate that the linguistics is very important and interrelated with classical Arabic grammar.
