Analysis of Meaning Relations in CNN Arabic News Texts About the Sudanese Conflict: A Study of Arabic Semantics

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and classify the range of meanings in sentences in Arabic news texts based on the theory of Arabic semantics. This is motivated by the importance of understanding the variety of meanings in the study of Semantics, given the many challenges arising from a lack of understanding and analysis of the variety of meanings that appear in the sentences of Arabic news texts. Specifically, in the news article"بيان مصري بعد تكرار الهجمات على قوافل الإغاثة والمنشآت الطبية بالسودان وأبو الغيط: ترقى لجرائم حرب"   published by CNN Arabic. There is the use of sentences with complex meanings that have not yet been linguistically analyzed. The approach taken is a qualitative technique that employs a descriptive and analytical framework. The research data sources consist of Arabic news texts. The results of the study indicate the existence of a relationship known as lexical structure, namely, synonyms and antonyms. This study aims to reinforce the messages and attitudes conveyed in news reporting and to demonstrate that variations in meaning play a crucial role in shaping meaning in news discourse.
