Bentuk sarkasme pada caption Instagram Tere Liye: Tinjauan pragmatik

Abstract

Expressions containing social criticism are often used when social phenomena occur in society, both in the scope of education, religion, economics, and politics in Indonesia. In writing criticism, Tere Liye often uses sarcasm which aims to emphasize the opinion or information he writes. This study aims to describe the types and meanings of implied sarcasm in Tere Liye's writing style in the caption of @tereliyewriter Instagram account. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data in the form of words, phrases, and sentences from the Instagram @tereliyewriter social media account with the theory of sarcasm according to Elizabeth Camp. The data were obtained using tapping and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique in this research also uses the extralingual pairing technique to analyze language elements related to the context outside the language. The results of the research found several types of sarcasm, including; proportional sarcasm, lexical sarcasm, sarcasm like prefixed, and illocutionary sarcasm. Meanwhile, the implicature meaning is in the form of conventional meaning in the form of utterances that are generally acceptable to the community.
