Qur'anic Counseling Services in Optimizing the Potential and Achievements of Gifted Students at SMAN X Garut
Abstract
The achievement paradox in gifted students occurs when individuals with high intellectual potential show low academic achievement, which is influenced by social pressure, peer exclusion, and lack of environmental support. This study aims to analyze the influence of the social environment on the psychosocial aspects and academic participation of gifted students. The method used is a qualitative case study through semi-structured interviews and observation of social interactions at SMAN X Garut. The results show that before counseling, students had low self-awareness, hid their emotions, had fluctuating learning motivation, and passive class participation. After undergoing Qur'anic Counseling, which combines reflection on verses from the Qur'an, the empty chair technique, and CBT, there was an increase in self-awareness, emotional expression, learning motivation, social interaction, and academic participation. QS. Al-Mujadalah (58:11) emphasizes the importance of knowledge and faith in elevating one's status. These findings emphasize the need for an inclusive school environment and a holistic, spiritually-based educational approach to support gifted students.
