Publication Ethics
Proceedings of International Conference on Islamic Counseling Studies (ICONICS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. The editorial team, authors, reviewers, and all parties involved in the publication process are expected to adhere to ethical standards as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Duties of Authors

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original, free from plagiarism, and have not been submitted or published elsewhere.

All sources used in the manuscript must be properly cited and acknowledged.

Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the data presented and must be willing to provide raw data if requested.

Any form of academic misconduct such as fabrication, falsification, or duplicate publication is strictly prohibited.

Authorship must be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the research and writing process.
2. Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the manuscript’s academic merit, originality, and relevance to the scope of ICONICS.

Editors must ensure a fair, unbiased, and confidential review process.

Editors should not use unpublished materials disclosed in submitted manuscripts for their own research purposes without the author’s written consent.

Editors are obliged to take appropriate actions if ethical misconduct is identified, including retraction or correction if necessary.
3. Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript and not use any part of its content for personal advantage.

Reviews should be conducted objectively and constructively, providing clear feedback to help authors improve their work.

Reviewers must disclose any potential conflict of interest and recuse themselves from the review process if necessary.
4. Plagiarism and Academic Misconduct

All submitted manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism using appropriate software.

ICONICS has zero tolerance for plagiarism and reserves the right to reject or retract any manuscript found to violate ethical standards.
5. Conflict of Interest

All parties involved in the publication process must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
ICONICS upholds transparency, accountability, and academic honesty to ensure the credibility and quality of its publications.
